The civil fines, totaling $180,000, are connectex with the application of Furadan and Basagrajn on 18 fields during the 2008growing season. Oregomn pesticide law prohibits the use of pesticides on crops for whicjh they arenot labeled. Neithed Furadan nor Basagran is approvedfor onions. No residued was found on marketed onions. Onions from two of the affectee fields were destroyed bythe grower. The penaltiesd are the maximum allowed undetthe law.
